Hopefully a good home will be found for Mirandas Jewelled Comets and my Reconstructed bowl. Here's the poster for the show and some blurb about the pieces we are showing and two short biogs.Jewelled Comet by Miranda Cleary Corcoran is from her 2003 collection called Embellishment and consists of Velvet encrusted with Gold, Beads and Paint in a chunky wooden frame. About the Artist; Miranda Cleary Corcoran works primarily with acrylics and gold leaf on large canvases although she is always experimenting with different decorative techniques. Her pieces are highly textured and richly coloured. Planets, Moons, Stars and Flowers are the main subjects of her work. Her most recent exhibitions were Embellishment in 2003, Disclosure in 2004 and Liquify in 2006. Since then she has been busy with the arrival of her son and daughter but hopes to have a new collection ready by 2012. www.mirandasart.com
Reconstructed Bowl by Sean Corcoran is made from found remnants of plates and bowls from Irish fields. Painstakingly made in 2009. More details www.seancorcoranart.com
About the Artist; Sean Corcoran is an Artist based in Waterford. He has worked in many different media including Stained Glass, Mosaic and Wood. He was co-owner of The Salvage Shop where he worked mainly in glass but also designed many weird and wonderful contraptions in wood. He has undertaken many full interiors.
