House Interiors
I have been commissioned to design many full house interiors. These pojects have often included the installation of freestanding kitchens and open plan living spaces.
I have designed many separate items for interiors including furniture, joinery, decorative glass, flooring and soft seating. Many of these were custom made with the materials and facilities of The Salvage Shop. The shop is now closed but I still use local workshops to produce items as required. I am familiar with outsourcing production on a small and large scale.
I have worked on several listed buildings and have a vast knowledge of traditional materials, suppliers and techniques. I regularly attend specialist shows including the Prolight and Sound Fair in Frankfurt and the Bar Show in Earlscourt, London. As well as this I visit the house and home exhibitions and sustainable energy shows. I have been accepted as a member of the Institute of Designers of Ireland.
I have also worked on many pubs, restaurants and cafes as well as a nightclub, a beauty salon, a hair salon and a variety of retail outlets. This kind of work has given me great experience in coordinating an interior. This would generally involve managing all the key suppliers while liaising with the customer every step of the way. As an artist and designer my influences are broad. I enjoy new challenges that give me an opportunity to break the mould.
