Funky Furniture
I am not a carpenter. I am an artist. Here is a selection of the Funky Furniture that I have designed at The Salvage Shop, Waterford, Ireland.
I love chairs. Many of them are bulky and oversized like a fantasy flashback to your childhood when your legs dangled when you sat on a chair.
Below is a Video of some of my favourite pieces. Music by Moby courtesy of MobyGratis.com. Please click play and maximise to full view;
All this work is made from recycled wood including pitch pine and rustic yellow pine. The basic process begins with a scribble on paper and then the careful selection of timber. I then guide a carpenter to assemble and sculpt the form. I oversee all aspects of the process.
There is currently a six months lead time on commisions for Funky Furniture.
