The Folly

Serenitity and Sunshine.

----------------------------------

If it's not too much trouble.....it's the FOLLY not the Foley. Named after Richardsons Folly which was an architectural construction built to please a wealthy landowner, with no real use only to be a shape on the landscape (thence the term - folly, as in useless and stupid). Popular in the Victorian era and often taking the shape of Roman/Greek ruins or fake Norman castles......I have no idea what Richardsons Folly looked like...I must look it up.

I love the church in the photo, Have you ever been inside? - all that concrete and the glass tracery holding it up. If you like concrete visit the stairwell in the Public library. The indentations of the wooden moulds left in the finish. Also available in the stairs of The Granary but it's a bit too rough there IMHO.

Enough from me - Eddie.
