About me
My Biography
I have undertaken many full interiors and in more recent years have been collaborating on some larger Architectural projects. I have put down the pencil and taken up the computer, creating Digital Art, Photo Distortions and even building my own Website. Photography has always been a tool of my trade and now it is becoming a more prominent part of my Art.
I left school in July 1985 with no idea what I wanted to be. My Dad introduced me to a stained glass maker and before long I was hooked. I spent many years designing and making stained glass to commission. By 1995 I was focusing on and develop my own style as an Artist.
In 1994 and 1995 I was commissioned to produce the awards for the annual Irish no-budget film awards. In 1996 I had an exhibition in Garter Lane Arts Centre, Bandsaw and Glasscutter. I was delighted at the success and reaction to this exhibition. This encouraged me to develop my own show space and gave me greater focus as an artist. In 1998 I assisted Red Kettle with their production of Jim Nolan’s play, The Salvage Shop.
In 1998 I visited both Kenya and New York, which gave me great inspiration for my next period of productive output.
In 1999 I revealed my funky furniture at a show in City Square Shopping Centre in Waterford. The same year I had an exhibition of my picture mosaics entitled Streetscape and Other Shapes in Café Luna, Waterford. I also completed the full installation of a new funky hair salon - The Cutting Company, Waterford.
In 2000 I was one of Ernest Ruckle’s collaborators for the Euro Disney art show in the Louis K. Meisel Gallery in New York. This whole experience has to be one of the highlights of my career.
For many years I have been creating pen and ink drawings and have been commissioned to produce several maps.
I am greatly inspired by my surroundings and my emotions. I have explored themes related to the four elements; earth, wind, fire and water and my sculptural work has a fantasy quality that always provokes a reaction. Colour is second nature to me at this stage and I love scribbling. I once swore I would never own a computer and now I have built my own website.
